4th of July Weekend

The 4th of July weekend was a busy weekend with a full campgrounds. Most campers were good, but you always have a few that over indulge. Only had a couple of complaints which isn't to bad.

It was hot and humid so the tube rentals went good. A lot of campers spent the days floating on the river. That is a good way to stay cooled off. Denise and I worked quite a lot, but did find time to hit the river and cool off. We spent a few hours at Rainbow Beach. That is a huge sand bar in the river that we all gather at and just relax in the water.

The siding on the house is coming along good. It a is slow process and with the heat it is even slower. I'm not good with the heat, but it will get done. Looks like rain today so I might just get to goof off all day.

Found out that my son is being stationed in Alaska, so I guess you all know where I'll be next summer. Been wanting to take a trip there anyways. This gives me the incentive to do it. Will probably come back to Matson's in April and help get it opened up. Then head to Alaska in June. Spend about 2 or 3 months on the trip and return to Matson's to help out in the busy salmon season.

  1. Yeah get back to work! Bet you never guessed retirement would be so much work! I can't wait for you to come to Alaska. I will have a deep freeze ready for filling, if you decide to do some fishing. It would be awesome if you fill it with fish and I fill one with moose, caribou, and bear. That way I can keep the old grocery bill down!
