July 19, 2009 is very early for salmon on the big Manistee River, but with this crazy cold weather we've been having I decided to try my luck. Water temp. was 62 degrees and sky was sunny.I was throwing a Thunder Stick Jr. and hoping for a walleye with a slight chance of a salmon. It was my lucky day after about 1/2 hour of fishing something big rolled so I kept casting in that area. After about 10 cast she hit. What a adrenilan rush, I knew it was a salmon. After 5 minutes of fighting and praying I landed her. LIFE IS GOOD!!!
Oh what a great catch! Congratulations and good eating!
